Gartner’s research predicts that by 2026, 25% of the world’s population will spend at most an hour per day in the metaverse.
We will be shopping, studying, and working.
All businesses that we interact with are expected to also be in the new virtual world.
We’ll also use digital tokens for buying, selling, and owning things.
The metaverse is the place where at least a quarter will be living, working, shopping, and socializing in the future.
A new study has shown that 2026 will bring an hour per day.

According to Gartner, technology researchers Gartner, around 30% of organizations worldwide will also have metaverse products or services by then.
The metaverse will combine all the digital activities that people do. We could all do a variety of things, including building virtual homes, studying in virtual classrooms, and purchasing digital land.
Metaverse will have an impact on every business that consumers interact with daily.

Metaverse — Virtual economy
Gartner states that the metaverse will have a virtual economy, which includes digital currencies and non-fungible tokens. NFTs, which are digital tokens, can be used online to purchase, own, and sell digital or physical goods, such as music, property, and art.

The virtual workspaces in virtual offices will allow employers to engage and collaborate better with workers. This infrastructure will already be available from the metaverse, so businesses won’t have to build it.
The metaverse is being called the next evolution on the internet. It’s also known as “extended reality”, or XR. It combines augmented reality, virtual reality, and mixed reality (MR).
AR is the real world, but with a digital overlay. VR is a digital world. MR combines the digital and real worlds.

Getting into the Metaverse
To enter the metaverse, people will need to wear headsets. Already, headset shipments are expected to surpass those of gaming consoles within the next few years.
Facebook declared it would be a metaverse company last year when it changed its name from Meta to Facebook. Microsoft and Sony are just two of the many firms that are preparing to grow in the metaverse. Both companies recently acquired game developers and are currently working on next-generation headsets.
Brands that used to buy advertising space on billboards and websites are now purchasing digital land in the metaverse. Since Facebook’s metaverse plans were announced, the prices for metaverse real property have shot up by as much as 500%.
It is logical that land in the metaverse, where many people gather, will be more valuable than land in real life.
